JOB ANNOUNCEMENT

The Asian Forum of Parliamentarians on Population and Development (AFPPD) is a platform of National Committees on Population and Development and Parliamentary Committees on Health and Population in the Asia-Pacific and CIS Countries from 25 countries. We are committed to fostering a cooperative environment between Asian Parliamentarians in area of population and development. AFPPD has been monitoring and supporting population and development-related policies and programmes in the region. We also work to mobilize resources, in particular for United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and other population programmes in Asia. Out of 25 National Parliamentarians Committees, 15 have full time staff support to conduct regular, advocacy activities, which are mostly funded locally by UNFPA and various other agencies

 Policies Research Officer and Documentation Associate

 Position: Programme Associate-Central Asia

Roles and Responsibilities: 

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of AFPPD, the Program Officer-Central Asia will work as a member of the AFPPD team to assist in all aspects of programme management for Parliamentarian Capacity Development Programme and responsible for regular contact of Outreach Programme with various partners including government agencies, NGOs, International NGOs, UN agencies, Donors, Funding Agencies, private sector in Central Asia. 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Main responsible for day-to-day management and coordination of meetings and other events in English and Russian.
  • Updating electronic information in Russian.
  • Translating and preparing AFPPD e-news, newsletter, and other publications in Russian
  • Act as supporting facilitator during meeting or training session organized by AFPPD.
  • Oversea regular communication of the organization as well as directly liaise with registered participants, resource persons, invited guest speakers, trainers, facilitators and lecturers during meeting or training courses in Russian
  • Responsible for the development of materials including booklet, brochures, pamphlets, and others on population and reproductive health related issues in Russian.
  • Manage the production of abstracts and papers for the meeting in Russian.
  • Responsible for drafting project, work programme, budget plan and necessary report documents on development issues, especially on population and reproductive health in English and Russian.
  • Preparation for the progress reports as well as semi-annual reports in Russian

 Qualifications:

  • Male or female age not over 40 years old
  • Relevant degree (Post graduate with minimum 3-5 years of experience), preferably in International Development, Population and Development, other social related fields.
    Relevant experience and knowledge in development particularly training and capacity building is advantage.
  • Strong coordination and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Good organization, paying attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Responsive to changing circumstances and adaptable at short notice.
  • Fluency in oral and written English and Russian with drafting & editing skills on population and development issues.
  • Good computer skills in MS Office application software, internet browsing, etc.

 Position: Researcher

Roles and Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Executive Director of AFPPD,  the Research Officer will work as a member of the AFPPD team to conducts research and monitoring and evaluation activities to provide information needed to design and implement programs and evaluate their impact and report to Executive Director as well as report writing and responsible. AFPPD focuses on population, reproductive health, maternal health, family planning, HIV/AIDS, harm reduction, gender, MDGs programme, Parliamentarians advocacy and capacity development.

Duties and Responsibilities: The Research Officer’s responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring and evaluating donor-funded program activities according to already established performance monitoring plan and preparing project proposal
  • Designing and conducting qualitative studies including formative research, pre- and post-testing of population materials and implementation
  • Conducting field work, focus groups, workshop and document preparation;
  • Analyzing and interpreting research findings, and writing reports;
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in International Development, population, public health, capacity building or social related field;
  • Experience with computer software for data entry and analysis and other database management programs a plus;
  • Experience with quantitative and qualitative survey research techniques;
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation program activities and programe implementation.
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills;
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with flexible working hours.
  • Excellent English writing skills is a must

Position: Administrative Associate

Roles and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the Executive Director of AFPPD, the Administrative Associate will work as a member of the AFPPD team to provide a wide range of administrative support services and to develop and maintain efficient office systems and procedures, with particular emphasis on document and communications management.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Administrative Associate's responsibilities include:

  • Administrative Support
  • Mailing list update
  • Participant database
  • Support in coordination among line agencies and other organization
  • Coordinating-logistics and information exchange
  • Filing and information updating
  • Scheduling and visa and travel management
  • Organize meeting and provide logistic support
  • Preparation of conference kit
  • Formulate administrative policies for any activities to be carried out by the organization
  • Manage day-to day operation of the office
  • Responsible for recruitment
  • Coordinating with printer to publish the office publications
  • Coordinate with public and private agencies in Thailand and abroad
  • Maintenance personel record
  • Contact and coordinate with the building and the owner
  • Provide information when if any requested
  • Translating of various documents between English and Thai
  • Managing of employee work schedule and leave form
  • Supporting in the planning and implementation of the meetings, conference, workshop or training activities for both in -country and international, including travel arrangements, travel expenses and related administrative matters
  • Supervising and arranging the process of travel insurance medical claim
  • Performing any task that may be assigned by executive Director as required
  • Taking care of the purchases of stationeries and office equipments, including searching for the right supplier and quotations
  • Arranging Driver's schedule on each day
Qualifications:
  • Thai Nationality only (Male and female are encouraged to apply)
  • Bachelor or Master degree in any related fields. Working experience with International NGOs preferred.

  • Computer literate in MS Office.

Position: Programme Associate-Gender

Roles and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of AFPPD, the Programme Associate-Gender will work as a member of the AFPPD team to assist in all aspects of programme management for Gender related issues.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Programme Associate-Gender's responsibilities include:

  • To develop programme and proposals on gender related specifically on advocacy programme for parliamentarians activities.
  • To work on Male Parliamentarians involvement to prevent violence against women.
  • To develop contacts and roster of women and gender related legislative.
  • To create and develop the materials including booklet, brochures, pamphlets, and others materials on Gender related issues.
  • To organize the open hearing at the Parliament on Gender issues.

Qualifications:

  • Master degree in Gender field, population, public health or social related field.
  • At least 3 years working experiences.
  • Experience with computer software for data entry and analysis and other database management programs a plus.
  • Experience in monitoring and evaluation program activities and programme implementation.
  • Strong organizational and logistical skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment with flexible working hours.
  • Ability to work as team player.
  • Excellent in written and spoken English is a must.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Executive Director of AFPPD, the Policies Researcher Officer and Documentation Associate will work as a member of the AFPPD team to conducts research and track policies on population, reproductive health and related issues in Asia-Pacific countries and make a proper documentations, website and response to inquiries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Policies Researcher Officer and Documentation Associate's responsibilities include:

o Tracking policies on population, Reproductive health and related issues in Asia-Pacific countries and make a proper documentations, website and response to inquiry.
o Analyzing and interpreting research findings, and writing reports;

Qualifications:

  • Post- graduate in International Development, population, public health related field.
  • Experience with computer software for data entry and analysis and other database management programs a plus.
