Members

The membership of the Forum consists of official parliamentary committees dealing with population and health issues. In the parliament, where such committee does not exist, an all-party national group of parliamentarians concerned with population and development issues is formed with the knowledge and approval of the Speaker of the Parliament.

ADMISSION OF NEW MEMBERS: National groups of parliamentarians on population and development or parliamentary committees dealing with population and RH issues shall seek membership in the Forum by making written application through the Honourable Speaker of the Parliament (Lower House / Upper House) to the Secretary-General of AFPPD. The Secretary-General shall without delay refer the application, with his comments thereon, if any, to the Executive Committee of the FORUM. Membership will be granted on the approval of a majority of the Executive Committee and expressed either in writing or at the next meeting of the Executive Committee. The approval is then confirmed at the next General Conference of the FORUM.

Associate members of the FORUM include parliamentarians concerned with population and development in Asian countries which are members of the United Nations and its specialized agencies; and those countries in which a national group of parliamentarians on population and development has not yet been formed.
